Hello to all!
I'm happy to be part of this years global solidarity challenge and member of TEAM GENDER!
Investment in females as mothers, wives and has the ability to transform our world into a more inclusive and prosperous place. Females worldwide are still subject to adverse laws, discrimination and violence as a reality of daily life. Empowering females as equal members of society and important agents change in the development process worldwide is a holistic and cross-cutting objective in the SDG's of 2030.
I can't wait to share my solidarity challenge with you and to get you involved in fundraising for a worthwhile cause.
My challenge- highlighting the gender pay gap and poverty faced by the majority of women worldwide.
In the spirit of solidarity I will be living on 72% of 1.90 USD/ Day...
Why this much (little) ? the international standard for extreme poverty is those who live on less than 1.90USD/day. To boot, in CANADA women earn on average 72% of what men earn!! http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/wage-gap-oxfam-1.3...
Show your solidarity!
