First, thank you! Simply by arriving at this page, you have shown an interest in making a positive difference. I am truly excited to be participating in my first Global Solidarity Challenge and raising funds for VIDEA. Together we can actually contribute to sustainable change – thank you for helping make that happen!!
VIDEA actively involves youth, educators, and community partners in the development and implementation of international development, global education and youth and community engagement initiatives. VIDEA’s Global Solidarity Challenge is an amazing event that spreads awareness about many different social justice issues, along with raising funds to help maintain VIDEA’s incredible partnerships and programs.
This year, the focus of the Challenge is consumerism. Excessive lifestyles in the developed world are contributing to growing inequality and disparity amongst developed and developing nations. This is why, from July 10th to the 16th I will engage members of my community – friends, family, neighbours, peers - in meaningful discussion, create something new out of recycled materials, and co-host a clothing swap event.
Thank you to everyone that supports my Challenge and donates to help me reach my goal!
*All gifts over $25 will receive a charitable tax receipt
